Zero Motorcycles VIN Decoder

This VIN decoder is specific to Zero Motorcycles. It will decode year, make (Zero), platform and model information, as well as rated power and possibly other properties of the motorcycle. Data was compiled from information available in published owner's manuals downloadable from the Zero Motorcycles website.

Rebuilt from all 35 published Zero owner's manuals covering model years 2014 to 2026, cross-checked against ten years of real VINs submitted to this page. Some caveats worth knowing:

• Zero has changed VIN structure and classification repeatedly, with significant changes around 2020 and 2023/2024. From 2024 they stopped publishing the Model character entirely, so only the Model Line is available for newer bikes.
• Some manuals are stale. The 2023 manuals reuse the 2022 diagrams, and several model line codes were in use on real bikes a full two model years before Zero documented them.
• Rated power is the homologation figure Zero publishes in the VIN tables. It is a continuous/type-approval rating, not peak output, so it will read lower than the headline kW or hp figure for the same bike.
• A few codes mean different things depending on the region the bike was sold into. Where that happens this page shows every possibility and offers a region selector.
• XE and XB models (off-road only) have VINs, but Zero publishes no decode data for them at all. Their manuals contain no VIN breakdown, so those bikes cannot be decoded here.
• Model years before 2014 predate the manuals used here and remain best-effort based on researched data.
• Color information is not encoded in the VIN. It comes from a list of known colors per model year and is indicative only.
